Join the photographers Kelli Connell and Byron Wolfe for a discussion of the practice of “rephotography.” Both artists will reflect on their experiences visiting and photographing the sites of iconic images of the American West. The artists will join Beth Gollnick, curatorial associate, in conversation.
Both Connell and Wolfe are featured in the exhibition Traces on the Landscape, on view through August 6 at Art on Hulfish. Drawing upon diverse archives from artist photo books and autobiographies to government survey documentation and tourism memorabilia, Connell and Wolfe explore questions about the body, identity, and memory from personal and historical perspectives.
