Ajay Skaria is an associate professor of history and a faculty affiliate of the Institue for Global Studies at the University of Minnesota. His work focuses on postcolonial studies and theory, intellectual history, 19th- and 20th-century South Asia, forest and adivasi communities, nationalism, and democracies and minorities. A prolific author, Skaria’s most recent book, Muslims, Dalits, and the Fabrications of History, coauthored with Shail Mayaran and M. S. S. Pandian, was published in 2006.
