Kiran Klaus Patel is a professor of European and global history and head of the Department of History at Maastricht University. Prior to his appointment there, he was as professor of EU history and transatlantic relations at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, and an assistant professor at Humboldt University in Berlin. He is a member of an international team of historians researching the history of the German Ministry of Labor during the Third Reich. His ongoing research projects focus on the history of European integration as well as on the history of the US in the world.
