During Engage 2020, Professor Robert Prud’homme delivered a lecture on his invention, its societal impact, and his career at Princeton as an inventor and innovator. Prud’homme has led the invention of flash nanoprecipitation to encapsulate drugs in nanoparticles for targeted delivery throughout the body.
Dean for Research Pablo Debenedetti presented Professor Prud'homme with the inaugural "Dean for Research Award for Distinguished Innovation". This new award recognizes an innovation led by a Princeton professor whose scholarly activity and creative thinking have led to solutions for an issue of importance to society.
