Mohammad Seyedsayamdost, professor of chemistry, received Princeton’s prize for innovative faculty, the Dean for Research Award for Distinguished Innovation, for the creation of a method for discovering new anti-infective therapeutics, including drugs that treat bacterial, viral and fungal infections. The award, inaugurated in 2020, is given annually to a faculty member for an innovation that has the potential or demonstrated ability to address a critical challenge of importance to society. Seyedsayamdost, who has co-founded the startup Cryptyx Bioscience to develop the technology, received the award from Dean for Research Pablo Debenedetti and gave a talk about his technology on Thursday, Dec. 2 at 12:30 p.m.
