Learn how Mastercard and IDEMIA designed and introduced an innovative new tactile card standard for blind and partially-sighted people. By allowing people to distinguish between a credit, debit, or prepaid card, the design provides greater security, inclusivity, and independence. The standard on which it is based works with ATMs and point-of-sale terminals so that it can be deployed at scale. Mastercard’s concept has been vetted and endorsed by The Royal National Institute of Blind People in the U.K. and VISIONS / Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired in the U.S.
