This
spring Princeton University Press published The New Princeton
Companion, a book it describes as “the definitive single-volume
compendium of all things Princeton.” The author is emeritus Vice President and
Secretary Bob Durkee, who retired in 2019 after more than 47 years in the
Princeton administration. Among other things, the book includes 404
encyclopedia-style entries, many of which recount the impact of women over the
course of Princeton’s 276-year history. Some of the women are well-known, but
many are not. Bob’s talk will highlight some names we probably know, and others
that will probably be new to most of us.
