Art and Archaeology graduate student Johanna Heinrichs presents her research on the architectural patronage of Francesco Pisani and the work of Andrea Palladio, who designed Pisani’s villa at Montagnana. She examines how Pisani lived between city (Venice) and country (Montagnana) and argues that his villa fulfilled the function of his primary residence as well as his rural retreat and farm, while incorporating urban and palatial architectural elements.
