Sociology graduate student Daniel Schneider presents his research on economic factors and the changes in American marriage over the past few decades. In examining the change in the social meaning of marriage, he describes the importance of wealth for entry into marriage today, its implications, and the paradigm shift of marriage no longer signifying a part of the American adult experience, but instead its final “capstone.”
