Princeton is one of five universities in NJ participating in the pilot of a State of New Jersey research asset database. The goal of ResearchwithNJ.com is to encourage economic development by increasing collaborations with industry and advancing innovation. Eli Khazzam of the NJ Economic Development Authority and Kelechi Okere of Elsevier discuss the project, the technology platform on which it is being built, and the data analytics that suggest research collaboration is a powerful predictor of innovation.
Khazzam and Okere appeared on a panel at the Spring 2018 conference of UIDP, an organization that brings companies and universities together to improve academic-industry collaborations. The four-day event was co-hosted in Silicon Valley by Princeton’s Office of Corporate Engagement and Cisco; it was the largest ever UIDP meeting. More than 300 attended to examine “Building U-I Partnerships in the Technology Ecosystem.”
Coleen Burrus, Princeton’s director of corporate engagement, moderated the panel. Princeton's participation in ResearchwithNJ.com and implementation of the related Princeton portal, researchwith.princeton.edu is being led by the corporate engagement team.
